Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Voila Africa's mobile application, web application, or website (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Voila Africa helps African students and recent graduates discover scholarships, internships, and fellowships. The Platform also provides a CV builder, mentorship matching, and related tools. We do not guarantee that any opportunity listed on the Platform is accurate, currently open, or that you will be selected for it, and we are not affiliated with the organizations offering those opportunities unless explicitly stated.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you meet this age requirement.

4. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@voila-africa.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users, including mentors or mentees
• Attempt to access another user's account without authorization
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation or security
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute Platform content without our permission
• Impersonate any person or entity

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Opportunity Listings

Scholarship, internship, and fellowship listings are provided for informational purposes. We make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate and up to date, but:

• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any listing
• Application deadlines and requirements are set by the third-party organizations, not Voila Africa
• You are responsible for verifying details directly with the opportunity provider before applying

7. CV Builder

Content you create using the CV Builder remains yours. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information in your CV. We provide the tool for your convenience but do not review, verify, or endorse the content you create.

8. Mentorship Program

• Mentorship sessions are facilitated through the Platform, including video sessions conducted via Jitsi.
• Mentors are not employees of Voila Africa. Mentorship is provided on a best-efforts, voluntary or arranged basis, and we do not guarantee specific outcomes from any mentorship relationship.
• Both mentors and mentees agree to conduct themselves respectfully. Voila Africa reserves the right to remove any user from the mentorship program for inappropriate conduct.
• Voila Africa is not responsible for the advice, guidance, or conduct of mentors, which reflects the mentor's own views and not those of Voila Africa.

9. Payments

• Certain features of the Platform may require payment, processed securely through Paystack.
• All fees are stated in Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) and are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated at the time of purchase.
• You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.

10. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, logos, text, and underlying software, is owned by Voila Africa or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your CV or profile information), but you grant Voila Africa a limited license to use, host, and display that content as necessary to operate the Platform.

11. Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services, including Paystack (payments), Supabase (infrastructure), and Jitsi (video). Your use of these integrated services may also be subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

12. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any opportunity listing is accurate or that mentorship will result in any particular outcome.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voila Africa and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of opportunities, data, or income, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Voila Africa from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

15. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Platform or other users. You may also delete your account at any time through the app settings.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to conflict of law principles.
